You ever wonder why you didn't do things in your life earlier. My fitness trainer the ex marine and psychologist asked me the most important question of the day. Rich why did you ask me to train you? I responded by saying that I needed to get into shape!
He stated that you are a great trainer and asked me to get out of my mind and into my life! I thought about that statement for a long time as he gently smiled. I said What do you mean coach. Rich Train yourself and get rid of the fears you have. Stop blocking your talents. I saw the look in his eyes and I knew he wanted to ask me another question so I politely stated go ahead and ask me the last question for the day.
How do you embrace change Rich? Before you answer sometimes change is very difficult and when you train your clients always include them in whatever you do that's where the learning takes place for the trainer.
Don't just take their money! give them value, food recipes, goals, tickets, coupons, tips, exercise programs, etc.
Once again he put something on my mind that was totally knew to me. He was always able to say the right thing when it mattered most. Value is what clients deserve because they will embrace your service.
A client of mine Mrs. Thibeaux mentioned that she was comfortable feeling uncomfortable. She believed that change is for the better and started on a one year exercise program. She lost 35 pounds and now she is sporting a size 8 pair of jeans. She is a 59 years old and proud of her success. What's even better she now is eating foods rich in fiber taking multi-vitamins and making powder protien shakes.
It was change that she embraced for a healthier lifestyle and a plan that she followed to ensure her greatness. Age does not matter just do it!
Training with my former coach has brought me new insight with my clients, and myself. Sometimes you have to go back one step to move foward ten. No longer was I afraid to train with him because I am now focused on the knowledge he brings. I recall the pain that I went through during our training sessions and now it does not bother me at all. (Still hurts though.) It has been a great ride
